Participation Criteria: Participating venues are expected to meet the following standards to be recognized as a participating venue and included in the monthly venue listing provided by the City of Ellensburg Arts Commission. The monthly Art Walk is an event that brings out local residents and tourists for an evening of art and community. The artists make this event possible; therefore, it is the responsibility of the venues to provide a welcoming atmosphere for the art and to utilize the available advertising to promote the event.
1. Monthly rotation of artwork is strongly encouraged. Rotation of artwork on at least a quarterly basis keeps the local clientele returning to meet new artists and to view new works.
2. Participating venues agree to be open the first Friday of each month from 5 -7 pm.
3. The week prior, venues receive an email requesting artist information for the upcoming month. A description of the artist and medium presented should be emailed back as quickly as possible to allow adequate time for the commission to get advertising out to the community.
4. Each venue is required to pay $50.00/yr. to become a part of the First Friday Art Walk. This fee is used to defray the costs of publicity.
5. The EAC provides a First Friday Art Walk signboard with the EAC logo for each venue. Venues are required to surrender signboards or refund the replacement costs ($300.00) upon termination of their involvement with the Art Walk.
